Bowflex SelectTech 552 VS 1090
Are you in the market for a new set of weights? Maybe an upgrade? I started with just a small light set of dumbbells and have since upgraded as I needed heavier weights, but was short on space. Here is my review of the Bowflex SelectTech 552 VS 1090.
What Are BowFlex SelectTech?
I’ll start with explaining what the Bowflex SelectTech dumbbells actually are. The SelectTech 552 and 1090 are very similar in how they function and the amount of space they take up. Here is a side by side comparison on what they have to offer with both similarities and differences.

Are The Bowflex SelecTech’s For Me?
Overall, both the Bowflex SelectTech 552’s and the 1090’s are both an excellent choice for their versatility, functionality, cost effectiveness and space saving. Depending on your fitness level and your need the 552’s were plenty to start and got me through my first rounds of P90X, P90X2, and P90X3. It wasn’t until I added Body Beast to my workout regimen that I needed to up my weights over what the 552’s had to offer. The 1090’s are more expensive, but I had no trouble selling my used 552’s when I was ready to upgrade.
